Restore the beauty of your natural smile using porcelain veneers.

At Stone Ridge Family Dentistry of Aldie, Virginia, we offer porcelain veneers as one of many cosmetic treatments available at our office.

What are porcelain veneers?

Our team describes porcelain veneers as thin, custom-made shells of a tooth-colored dental ceramic that covers the front of the natural teeth to improve their appearance. They are made to look like your natural teeth and can be used to fix various issues, including gaps between teeth, discoloration, chips or cracks, and misalignments. Other providers often refer to veneers as “instant orthodontics” because they offer immediate aesthetic improvement without the need for braces.

How do I care for my veneers to help them last longer?

Porcelain veneers are strong and durable but require proper care, such as brushing twice daily and avoiding certain foods that could damage them. With good oral hygiene habits and regular dental visits, you can expect them to last up to 15 years before needing replacement. Also, avoid chewing on hard objects, which can crack or break the veneer.

What should I expect from the veneer process?

First, Drs. Mallory Grossman and Kelly Lincoln will evaluate you to decide if you are a proper candidate for porcelain veneers. Then, preparations begin. A small amount of your existing tooth enamel must be removed to make space for the veneer. Then, an impression will be taken and sent to our dental lab, where custom porcelain veneers can be crafted to fit perfectly over your teeth. The process takes about two weeks, and once the veneers are ready, they will be bonded securely in place during another appointment. You’ll leave with an enhanced, beautiful smile!
